Samyang AF 85 mm f/1,4 FE is constructed for Sony's mirrorless full-frame cameras in the A7 and A9 series but thanks to the E mount it can also be used on the even more compact APS-C- models in the A6xxx series. The lens has a fast, quiet and accurate autofocus motor, important features for portrait photography where you want to be able to get perfect sharpness on the subject”s eyes even when taking a quick snapshot. High sharpness and exquisite bokeh The Samyang AF 85 mm f/1,4 FE is designed to provide an outstanding optical performance, with a combination of high sharpness and exquisite bokeh. On the inside, the optical construction consists of 11 elements arranged in 8 groups where one element is made of ED glass to counteract chromatic aberration, color bleeding. To provide maximum resolution, Samyang has also used four elements made of HR glass (High Refractive). They also contribute to the lens” relatively compact size (less than 10 centimeters in length). A nine-blade aperture helps to create a soft, blurry background. Samyang's effective Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) ensures that the images always show high contrast and brilliance as well as neutral color reproduction.
