Product Description

Place your smartphone in the dedicated StarSense dock and launch the StarSense Explorer app. After a quick alignment procedure, the app generates a list of visible celestial objects and displays arrows on-screen to guide you toward your selected target. When the object is positioned in the eyepiece, the bullseye indicator turns green.

The app provides access to hundreds of audio descriptions and detailed information about thousands of celestial objects.

The compact tabletop Dobsonian mount offers a stable observing platform while remaining lightweight and easy to transport. Its low-profile design makes eyepiece access comfortable, especially for younger observers. The base can also be placed on a table or other stable platform to increase viewing height.

Teflon bearings ensure smooth movement in both altitude and azimuth. The adjustable altitude brake system allows users to fine-tune tension for smooth tracking. The optical tube attaches to the base using tube rings and a dovetail bar, allowing ergonomic positioning of the focuser.

The 130mm parabolic primary mirror gathers enough light to reveal fine details in a wide range of celestial objects, including Jupiter”s Galilean moons, cloud bands and Great Red Spot, Saturn”s rings, the Trapezium in the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades star cluster, galaxies, and faint nebulae.

Even from light-polluted urban environments, the telescope can reveal Jupiter, Saturn, the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy, double stars, and bright open clusters. Under darker skies, hundreds of additional deep-sky objects become accessible.

StarSense Explorer uses patented StarSense Sky Recognition technology and the Lost in Space Algorithm (LISA), similar to satellite navigation systems, providing greater accuracy than astronomy apps relying solely on smartphone sensors.

The telescope is compatible with most modern smartphones, including iPhone 6 and newer models and most Android devices running Android 7.1.2 or later manufactured since 2016.
