Accessories such as cameras, dew caps, tele-extenders or 2" star diagonals affect the balance of your telescope. Counterweights compensate for this imbalance, improving ease of operation and tracking.

For Skywatcher WAVE mounts, counterweights are only necessary if you want to use large optics with relatively heavy cameras.

This counterweight set significantly increases the load capacity of the mount. The kit includes all necessary components: a counterweight, a counterweight bar with connection thread, and an extension for even greater leverage.
