The CEM70EC comes with the characteristic look of the proven CEM mounts. CEM stands for center-balanced equatorial mount . This design allows a particularly favorable ratio of carrying capacity to mount weight . In the case of the CEM70, the ratio is equal to 2.3. The mount therefore carries more than twice its own weight! The CEM70EC can still be used on the move, but is also a very good mount for observatories.

The stepper motors and the toothed belt drive enable high starting accuracy in GoTo operation, but above all also a very precise tracking accuracy with a periodic error of less than +/- 3.5 angular seconds - and all this with the usual smooth running of all iOptron mounts.

Integrated iPolar camera . This camera replaces the classic polar finder scope and enables a precise alignment to be carried out conveniently on a laptop.
